BIG HERO 6 Contest!

Yessir, you can win a full color marker sketch of your very own in the BIG HERO 6 retailer raffle! How, you ask?! Read on for the details, friends:

First of all, thanks for the huge amount of positive feedback about the marker sketches I've been posting recently. If you'd like to get one for yourself, or if you're eagerly awaiting the premiere of BIG HERO 6 #1, have I got the contest for you!

We've partnered with some of our favorite comic stores across the country to bring you this special incentive, and all you've gotta do is buy the comic. Simple as that. When you do, you'll be entered in the raffle for that store and, with a little luck, win a sketch like these:

SAN DIEGO COMICON '08!

Comicon logo

It's that time again!  The biggest comic show in America kicks off next week--hope to see you there!

Got a spot in Artist's Alley this year, so look for me at table KK-03, right next to Christina Strain, apparently!

I'll be doing special sketching sessions at the Marvel and Zenescope booths as well, so watch for those.  As soon as I get the specific times, I'll post 'em here.

Podcast Fun!

Had a really great interview with the ALTERNATE REALITY podcast a couple days back, and the episode (#164) just went live if you want to check it out. We chit-chatted in depth about the upcoming BIG HERO 6 series, the comics industry in general, and a whole bunch of other random crap. :)

You can stream the episode from their website http://alternatereality.podomatic.com/

or download the episode from iTunes. Just look for episode #164!

Hope you get a laugh out of it.

BIG HERO 6 Update!

The MARVEL PREVIEWS catalogue came out this week, so now you can preorder comics that ship in September--yay! So if the spirit moves you to buy...oh, I dunno...50 copies of BIG HERO SIX #1, you can actually do that now. :)

What's that you say, Brangelina? 50's not enough for your growing brood of international adoptees? Well, don't let me stop you--by all means, order more! That's a win-win for everybody.

Back to reality for a minute, the order code's JUL082271 in case you want to lock in a copy at your local comic store.

But don't let the Pitt-Jolies hoard 'em all--act now!!

Here We Go! MARVEL in SEPTEMBER

Marvel's September solicitations just came out, and I'm psyched to report that BIG HERO 6 is one of the brand new titles making its debut this month:

I get the strangest feeling whenever I see my own project on a list like this, and it's exactly that feeling you get when you're on a roller coaster and the cart's slowly climbing to the top of the first big hill.

You know the ride's about to start rolling at 100 mph, and you're sort of bracing yourself in anticipation.

When I see a solicitation come out, it's a reminder that yeah, this book is coming out at a set time, and it's definitely not going to draw itself! I guess I feel equal parts motivated and terrified. :)

Anyway, BH6 #1 drops in September, and though I'm done drawing the first issue, that still leaves another 88 pages to worry about. Better get crackin'!

Spider-Man in Asgard

I was excited to see that MARVEL ADVENTURES: SPIDER-MAN #40 came out this week! Marc Sumerak wrote a fantastic script for the issue in which Spidey travels to Asgard under the influence of the Enchantress. I'll let the accompanying pic speak for itself, but yeah, it's a lot of fun.
